Assessment

The SQA SCQF Level 5 , Certificate in the Role of the Professional Taxi and Private Hire Driver is delivered by flexible / distance Learning.  It is also at your own pace and in your own time. This course is expected to take on average 2 months, but candidate’s can take up to 3 months. All candidate’s must have access to a mobile telephone, ipad, laptop or PC with a broadband connection.

Each candidate will receive a log-in to the teaching  material for each unit.  This is access to  a VLE (Virtual learning Environment).

On line “Taster” of the PTDQ course – You log in as a Guest

A flexible approach is used to suit all candidate’s and they will all be allocated an assessor / tutor.

Once the candidate is confident with the VLE online materials and the assessor is also confident with the candidate.  He/she is then put forward to sit the end of unit multiple choice test for the module. This is taking electronically via SQA Solar at a pre-arranged time. The test is taking at a dedicated centre or at Logis-Tech’s office in Glasgow at a a pre-defined date and time that suits the candidate.

All 9 of the units of the PTDQ – SCQF Level 5, Certificate in the Role of the Professional Taxi and Private Hire Driver are delivered in this manner.

Each test provides a broad assessment of the key principles and typical circumstances/situations that may face today’s professional taxi drivers or private hire drivers.

Prior to sitting the multiple-choice tests, the assessor will ensure that each candidate has covered all knowledge and understanding required in each unit specification.

To successfully pass each test, the candidate must achieve 60% of the marks available.
